Why most people fail to get results with a personal trainer (and how to fix it)
Most people who hire a PT see mediocre results. Here's why — and it's not what you think.
It's not laziness. It's not genetics. It's misalignment.
The client wants to "get fit." The trainer writes a generic programme. Sessions pass. Nothing sticks. The client quits after 5 sessions wondering why they wasted money.
Here's what actually works:
1. Train for a specific outcome, not a vague feeling
"Get fit" is not a target. "Deadlift 2x bodyweight in 16 weeks" is. Specificity creates accountability — for both the trainer and the client.
2. Buy a block, not a single session
One-off sessions are tourism. Blocks are transformation. Real change happens through consistent progressive overload over weeks, not a single sweat session.
3. Nutrition runs in parallel, not after
If your coach waits until you're training before touching your diet, you're leaving 40% of your results on the table. Both inputs need to work together from day one.
4. Progress needs to be tracked obsessively
If your trainer isn't recording your lifts, your weight, your energy levels — they're guessing. You deserve data, not vibes.
This is exactly how I structure every block of sessions I run. If you're serious about real results, check the link in my profile.
