Most creators are still doing things that stopped working 6 months ago. Here's what's actually driving growth right now:

What's working:

• Hook in the first 0.5 seconds (not 3 seconds like people still teach)

• Replying to your own comments with new videos — the algorithm treats these as fresh content with built-in engagement

• Carousel posts are getting 3-4x the reach of standard videos in most niches

• Posting between 4-7 PM in your audience's timezone (not yours)

• Using trending sounds within the first 2 hours of them trending

What's dead:

• Follow-for-follow engagement pods

• Hashtag stuffing (3-5 relevant tags max)

• "Post 3x per day" blanket advice — quality and consistency beats volume

• Buying followers (the algorithm literally suppresses accounts that do this)

The real secret? The algorithm rewards creators who keep people ON the app. If your content makes someone stop scrolling for even 2 extra seconds, you win.
