This is the foundational guide. Read it once, then live it every play.

1. Define a dedicated bankroll

Your bankroll is money set aside only for betting. It is not rent, not savings, not next month’s bills. Write the number down. That number is the ceiling you operate inside. If you cannot lose it without changing your life, it is too large. Separate it from everything else so one bad week cannot bleed into the rest of your finances.

2. Keep units between 1–2%

A unit is 1% of that dedicated bankroll. Standard plays sit at 1 unit. Highest-conviction spots can go to 2%. Never 5%. Never “just this once.” If your bankroll is $1,000, a unit is $10. That math is what keeps you in the game long enough for the models to matter.

3. Never chase losses on late-night games
