5 mistakes couples make when planning a trip to France
Planning a week in France? Here's what I see people get wrong every single time:
1. Trying to see everything
Paris, Lyon, Nice, Bordeaux, Mont Saint-Michel... in 7 days? You'll spend more time on trains than actually enjoying anything. Pick a region and go deep.
2. No restaurant reservations
That cute bistro you found on Instagram? Fully booked 3 weeks ago. In France, popular restaurants fill up fast — especially in Paris. Book ahead or eat at tourist traps.
3. Ignoring the metro
Taxis in Paris are expensive and slow. The metro gets you anywhere in 20 minutes for €2. Learn the key lines before you land.
4. Skipping the mornings
The Eiffel Tower at 8am vs 2pm is a completely different experience. Same with the Louvre, Sacré-Cœur, and most major sites. Early mornings = no crowds, better photos, more time.
5. No budget buffer
France is more expensive than people expect. A sit-down dinner for two in Paris runs €60-100 easily. Plan for it or you'll be stressed by day 3.
I built a complete 7-day France itinerary that handles all of this — daily routes, food spots, budgets, transport tips, hidden gems. Everything planned so you just follow along and enjoy the trip.
