The 12-minute dump that beats another to-do list

Most busy professionals do not have a productivity problem. They have an unfinished-thought problem.

You close Slack with 14 open loops. A decision you never made. A message you should send. A project that is "almost" ready. None of it is on a list, so your brain keeps carrying it.

A to-do list makes that worse. It asks you to organize before you have emptied the load.

Try this instead, once:

  1. Set a 12-minute timer.

  2. Write every concern, decision, obligation, and half-finished thought. Ugly is fine. Do not sort yet.

  3. Only then mark each one: do now, wait, or not mine.

You will usually find one physical next step hiding under five vague worries.

That is the whole method. Capture first. Sort second. Act on one thing.

If your LinkedIn feed is full of "optimize your morning," skip it. Empty the loops. Then pick the next action.
