5 things nobody tells you before having twins

I had my twins 7 months ago and I'm gonna be real — nothing prepares you.

Not the books. Not the blogs. Not the well-meaning relatives who say "you'll figure it out." Here's what actually caught me off guard:

1. You need a system for EVERYTHING. Feeding two babies on different schedules will break you. Get them synced early. Feed one, immediately feed the other. Not easy but it saves your sanity.

2. "Sleep when they sleep" is a lie. There's always one awake. Instead, pick ONE nap overlap per day as your sacred rest time. Protect it.

3. The gear you actually need is not what influencers recommend. Skip the $400 bassinet. Get a twin Z-pillow and a solid double stroller. That's 80% of the battle.

4. Accept help, even when it's imperfect. Your mom folded the onesies wrong? Who cares. She folded them. Say thank you and go nap.

5. You're going to feel like you're failing. You're not. Two babies is objectively harder. Give yourself grace every single day.

I started Double Duty Mama because I needed a place where twin moms could be honest about how hard — and how beautiful — this is. If you're expecting twins or in the thick of it, come hang with us. 💕
