How I Started Reselling With $5 (And What I Learned in 3 Years)
Three years ago I bought my first item to resell. Cost: $5.
Everyone told me I needed hundreds of dollars to start, that finding good contacts was impossible, and that the market was saturated. Spoiler: they were wrong about everything.
The trick was never having a huge budget. The trick is knowing who to buy from. The difference between a reseller who makes money and one who wastes time comes down to vendors.
Here are 3 things I learned:
1. DHGate and similar platforms are NOT the answer. Low quality, long shipping times, ridiculous margins. Private vendors are a different world — top quality, real prices, and a direct relationship.
2. Start small, reinvest everything. My first flip made me $12. I reinvested those $12 and within a month I was at $200. You don't need to be rich to start — you need to be consistent.
3. Community makes the difference. The best deals I found came from other resellers. Sharing info, comparing prices, discovering new vendors together — this accelerates everything.
After 3 years and $100k+ in revenue, I decided to share my private vendor contacts. If you want to start (or scale), Vendorix is the place.
