The 3 growth levers most creators ignore (and why follower count is the wrong metric)

Ran hundreds of growth campaigns for creators this year. The pattern that separates accounts that actually grow from ones that plateau isn't posting frequency — it's these three things:

1. Engagement velocity, not follower count. Platforms rank content by how fast it gets engagement in the first 30-60 minutes, not by your total following. A 2K-follower account that gets 40 comments in the first hour will outreach a 50K account that gets 5.

2. Reply-to-comment ratio. Creators who reply to every comment in the first hour see 2-3x more reach on that post than ones who post and ghost. The algorithm reads replies as "this content is starting a conversation."

3. Consistency of posting time, not just frequency. Posting 5x/week randomly performs worse than posting 3x/week at the same time slot. Predictability trains your audience (and the algorithm) on when to expect you.

If you're stuck under 10K and doing everything "right" content-wise, audit these three first before you touch your content strategy.
