What actually separates a good refurbished phone from a bad one
Been getting into the refurbished electronics space with wey, and figured I'd share what I've learned sorting through devices — useful whether you're buying refurbished or thinking about selling it yourself.
Grading is everything. "Refurbished" alone means nothing — it's the grade that matters:
Grade A: looks and functions like new, no visible wear
Grade B: light scratches, fully functional
Grade C: noticeable wear, still fully functional
If a listing doesn't specify a grade, that's a red flag.
Battery health is the #1 thing people forget to check. A phone can look flawless and still have a battery at 70% health. Always ask for the battery health percentage — anything under 85% should come with a price cut or a fresh battery swap.
Test before you list, test before you buy. Screen, cameras (front + back), speakers, charging port, buttons, Face ID/fingerprint. A real refurbisher tests all of it and tells you the results upfront — not "works great, no issues found" with zero detail.
Warranty is the trust signal. Anyone selling refurbished without at least a 30-day warranty either hasn't tested the device properly or doesn't want to be accountable if something fails. We do 30 days on every unit for exactly that reason.
Started small with a Grade A iPhone 12 listing — if you're curious how we grade and price, happy to talk shop in the comments.
