5 flowers that actually last (and the ones that don't)
Most people spend $50+ on flowers that look dead in 3 days. Here's what I've learned arranging hundreds of bouquets:
Flowers that go the distance:
Chrysanthemums — 2-3 weeks easy. Underrated.
Alstroemeria — Looks delicate, lasts forever. Budget-friendly too.
Carnations — People sleep on these. Modern varieties look incredible and last 2+ weeks.
Sunflowers — Bold statement, 10-14 days with proper care.
Orchids — Premium pick. Can last weeks if you don't overwater.
Skip these for longevity:
Tulips (gorgeous but 5 days max)
Gardenias (fragrant but fragile)
Lilacs (3 days, tops)
Pro tip: Trim stems at a 45° angle, change water every 2 days, and keep them away from fruit (ethylene gas kills flowers fast).
I run Wildbloom — we hand-arrange seasonal bouquets and ship them fresh. Every order comes with a care card so your flowers actually last. 🌸
