3 WordPress speed fixes that actually move your Core Web Vitals
Spent the last year buried in WordPress performance audits building a plugin, and the same 3 issues show up on almost every slow site:
1. Render-blocking CSS/JS from page builders. Elementor, Divi, etc. all dump extra stylesheets that block first paint. Deferring non-critical CSS alone usually shaves 0.5-1s off LCP.
2. Unoptimized images with no lazy-loading. Most sites still serve full-res PNGs for thumbnails. Converting to WebP + native lazy-load is the single highest-leverage fix for CLS and LCP combined.
3. No caching layer for logged-out visitors. If you're on shared hosting without a page cache, every visitor triggers a full PHP + DB render. A basic page cache cuts TTFB dramatically.
Built SpeedBoost to handle all three automatically without touching code — happy to answer questions if anyone's debugging a slow site.
