The 3 things I learned losing £12k before turning 20
Most people start trading watching YouTube gurus flex rented Lambos. I was no different.
I blew my first account at 18. Then my second. By the time I was 19 I was down £12k and questioning everything.
Here's what actually changed the game for me:
1. Stop chasing setups. If you're entering 10+ trades a day you're gambling, not trading. I went from 15 trades a day to 2-3 max. My win rate went from 38% to 67%.
2. Risk management isn't optional. I used to risk 5-10% per trade because I wanted to "make it back fast." Now I never risk more than 1-2%. Boring? Maybe. But I'm still here and most of the people I started with aren't.
3. Track everything. I document every single trade ā entry, exit, reasoning, emotions. After 6 months of doing this, I started seeing patterns in my own behavior that were costing me money.
I'm 21 now. Funded trader. I post all my trades live with full transparency ā wins and losses both. If you want to see what disciplined trading actually looks like, the group is open.
